About

I am Akash Shahriar, a software engineer and AI product builder in Dhaka. Six years in production. I started on mobile and now build across web, backend and AI.

At 365 Retail Markets I took a real-time voice ordering agent for unattended kiosks from proof of concept to production and own the checkout core of a restaurant POS shipped to four kinds of hardware from one Flutter codebase. Before that, six telecom and consumer apps for carriers in Bangladesh, Thailand and Myanmar at Portonics, and a shelf of photo and video apps used by millions at Kite Games Studio.

Alongside the day job I am co-founder and technical lead at CookieTech, a Dhaka studio shipping AI products for US clients, and a Toptal engineer since 2022. And I build my own apps: Utshob, PassFirst, ScreenKit, Rankwell. Those are the ones I write about here.

What I am good at: taking an AI feature all the way to the device, native audio and video when Flutter runs out, shipping MVPs fast, and talking to the people who will pay for the thing. What drains me: repetitive work someone else assigned.

Outside software I play guitar, make short films with family, and watch films seriously. Football twice a week.
